Macrocosm

I went for a walk last night and

I told the stars about you.

They didn't have much to say.

No paranoic warnings or

Feigned plaudits.

No words at all, really.

They simply listened

Politely.

I must admit I felt

Almost indecorous as I

Spoke about you,

For I don't know most of the

Constellations' names, even as I

So willingly uttered your's.

I looked at 200 billion trillion stars and

I told them about

One man

On a planet

In a galaxy

In a universe

That a legion of dead stars could

Never care about even if they wanted to.

But I can.

I can care about you.

And I'll make sure the cosmos

Know your name.
